L.A-based Animator/Illustrator/Storyboard Artist

About Me.
Yutaka Nakamura. That is the name of the Japanese animator who inspired me to want to become an animator. His style was incredible! – the movements were clean, the composition was exciting, and the illustration was always so precise. While watching his work, I would often wonder how I could possibly get that good. I would ask myself: How can I do THAT? What could I do to become just as good as him? I wanted my own art – my own animation – to someday reach the level of Yutaka Nakamura.
The older I got, the more things I became inspired by. I went from absolutely loving the illustrative style of Japanese animations to becoming entranced by the story and characters of Pixar movies. “Monster’s University” was the first movie that truly made me want to become a part of the collaborative process that went into producing such incredible movies. As a result of being infatuated with these films and shows, I started expanding my skillset, understanding that if I wanted to be a part of these things, I would have to improve.
Currently, I'm a Loyola Marymount University alumni, with a BA in Animation. Although my major was primarily in animation, I nevertheless love Storyboarding, Illustration, Character Design, and Modeling.
Even now, I hope to continue to improve on my journey, learning as much as I can, until I can finally be a part of the very things that inspired me in the first place.
